The 2013 CMT (Country Music Television) Awards were held this past week at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on June 5th. Country’s biggest stars hit the red carpet before the show began, giving audiences plenty of glitz, glam, and sequin to gawk at.
Although 23 year-old singer, Taylor Swift, may not have brought home any awards, she definitely brought her fashion A-Game. The country starlet dazzled fans on the red carpet in her soft beige, sequin encrusted Elie Saab dress with an uneven hem. Swift threw on a lacy pair of tan Jimmy Choo heels to complement the strapless gown and topped off the look with some shimmering jewelry by Neil Lane and a Christian Louboutin clutch complete with a glossy, satin bow. The county pop idol had her hair done up in a faux flapper bob, which, in conjunction with her dress's hem and the multitude of brilliant sparkles, seemed to create a roaring twenties meets today's girl next-door kind of look. Overall, the subtle elegance of Swift's outfit seemed to suggest that she was finally taking on a more grown-up, classy look, especially compared to some of her past red carpet outfits.
Just when we thought T-Swizzle was going for the mature and reserved look with her muted dress, the singer broke out the bedazzled, black corset, threw on a red dress with a cape like train, and let down her hair for her performance of “Red”. Swift completed the custom-made corseted dress with a pair of black sequined boots by Laduca and a pair of matching black booty shorts that showed off the country star’s killer legs. The outfit really turned up Swift’s sex appeal a few notches, while simultaneously making her look like some short of rock star superhero up on stage.
